A glimpse of life captured in a moment of utmost spiritual stillness. In the background, inside a dimly lit room, one can make out the blurred, flat, distant silhouettes of those who seek solace in familiar surroundings after work. The view is deliberately ‘blurred’, dreamlike, almost as if to imitate the eye of those who have already indulged in a couple of sips to let themselves go in total relaxation. The transparencies of the glass surface on which the glass rests and of the glass itself, emphasised by the extreme three-dimensionality and chaos of the light colours, are intended to push the observer into a hypnotic state. It is the colour blue that leads to the centre of the psyche, represented by red and gold.
