The final dance

Availability: In stock

Two tango dancers confront each other in a wild dance, as if the fate of their surroundings depended on it. She represents passion, the uncontrolled, irrational, sanguine unconscious. He, on the other hand, is controlled and icily focused, the conscious self that guides and supports his counterpart. The exchange of opposing energies drags the landscape with it, giving rise to a meeting/clash between fire (to the left of the male dancer), water (around the dancers), air and earth (above, to the female dancer’s right). The painting, in its drama, dynamism and three-dimensionality, reflects the tension of the psyche when conflicting emotions exist.
