Comparing landscapes. Art, nature and society in Switzerland 1850-1920
Switzerland is known for its natural beauty, so it’s not surprising that a large number of artists have produced works dedicated to capturing it.
A new exhibition in Bellinzona covers a period of change for Switzerland, at a time when urbanisation and industrialisation took hold. Covering a period of 70 years, the exhibition contains works by over 20 artists (including Hodler and Giovanni Giacometti) and aims to allow the viewer to “contemplate their landscapes with renewed wonder and awareness”.
